Lexi O'Malley rolled up to her old friend's new digs, idling at the curb as she wondered if this was really where Taranis lived now. It was strange to imagine the giantess this close to urban life, though they were still far enough off the beaten path as California went for curb parking to be a thing at least. Still, once upon a time she'd had to talk the taller woman out of being practically a rural shut-in back in Texas, lured her back to the adjacent areas of wrestling, got her an income again that had gradually led her west. Apparently, this new adopted daughter situation was soothing that kind of agoraphobia. She nodded agreeably to herself and killed the engine on her Harley Breakout.
You could tell it'd been a long drive in the swinging cowboy stride of the sandy-blonde woman as she made her way up the sidewalk without a rush, just a helmet in hand, all her backs left on the bike for now. She rang the doorbell and it wasn't a long wait before Taranis opened the door. That first look told her more on how her friend was doing-- the black maxi-dress that barely reached her knees was clean and neat if simple in design, her hair was brushed and pulled back out of the face that she had to peer around the top edge of the door to see. Not the Nightmare that audiences had screamed to see once upon a time, but honestly she looked in good shape for her now solidly middle age. It made a grin break out on Lexi's suntanned face. "You been workin' out, chica. Good to see those boys are gonna get some powerbombs."
"Maybe we'll start with some kicks and see how I do from there, hm?" The voice was low, but not as low as one might expect from someone seven feet tall. Clean of accent enough to make people forget she hadn't grown up in America. The pale tower of humanity ushered her friend inside, out of the sun. "Come have some tea, we'll wait for it to cool off and get your things. I should..." A pause near the hallway. "Gothica? Would you like to meet my friend, dear?"
Gothica, who's seen wearing a pair of black jeans, comfortable Crocs, and a lavender shirt, is seen grabbing a glass of sweet tea as well says, "Yes,mom!" She goes over to the other lady and says with a warm smile. "I'm Gothica Skylight. It's so nice to meet you, Lexi."
"Oh hey there! Your mom sent me pictures but doesn't do you justice, love the blue in your hair." Lexi lit up with a grin to meet the gothic younger lady, offering her a handshake.
The blue haired woman was heard saying right back. "Thank you so very much! I do have a boyfriend who is at the gym getting a workout done. His name is Ace Michaels. We do care about each other just like I care so deeply for the lady that I call my mom. She's going back into the ring and team up with a man named Phantom. Me and Gary are going to be at ringside to make sure that my mom and Phantom are going to do great. If my mom doesn't mind, please try to come to the show to cheer on this amazing lady on." She pointed to the white haired woman and smiles.
"I certainly plan on it." Lexi answered. "Came quite a way to see this, though your mom tried to convince me to fly in. Hadn't done a road trip on the new bike, needed to break 'er in anyway. Good to see I won't be the only one, though! We gotta get her ready, I hear you guys've been training quite a bit so you've definitely done the hard part on that already."
The blue haired woman said. "We sure have! I'm so proud of Taranis. She has busted her ass and I'm very confident that she does anything that her heart desires. She's definitely a hard worker and she teaches me that. Also, she says that if I want something to work hard and earn everything."
"Sounds like her, never been much one for shortcuts. We've gotta dig through that old trunk of ring gear that's probably at the back of her closet here just like it was in the old days. At least she always cleaned that stuff, I've known wrestlers where that would've been like opening a venthole to the bowels of hell." Lexi chuckled at her own joke.
Gothica chuckled too and asked. "Warrior lady that is Taranis. How do you feel about getting back into the ring, teaming up with Phantom and your opponents? I know that you and Phantom are so super ready. One day, we can team up and show the rest of the WWH fed who's the bosses."
Taranis came around the corner with two glasses of tea, handing one off to her friend. "Oh, these guys have no idea what's coming." She settled in her chair in the living room, built tall just for her. "To be fair, they're at the top of their games right now and I'm in my sunset... but they'll be lucky if they can find the tail end of my in-ring work back in the early 2000s to prepare with. Fans of that Japanese style, I can relate. Brutal and merciless, that was everything I did. Might've found shelter with you, Gothica, in my personal life... but that woman's still in here. It's roused a lot of hard memories. Not sure if waiting to uncork them and vent it all on some human bodies when I step over that top ring at Ascension's the right tactic, but it feels right.
"I'm sure they'll see that freakshow attraction everybody used to back in the day-- they can stare all they like, and I'm sure there'll be buckets of insults between that and being 'all washed up' or whatever else they haul out. It's never been easy. I was being mistaken for an adult woman at age 11 in a third-world country; by the time I was a teenager, superstitious people were crossing themselves in fear and moving to the other side of the street. Not exactly what you want at that age. Thought I was a literal devil when I first debuted in wrestling. Never fit anywhere I've ever gone, till now. A few years of peace isn't going to erase the memory of a lifetime of war. It's right under the surface, just waiting to be drawn up."
Gothica loved hearing every word and took a few sips from her sweet tea glass.
She seemed to come out of her daze, realized what Gothica had said. "I would definitely not mind tagging with you sometime, Gothica. Can't do it all the time, but I'm sure I can hold up sometimes."
