MAIN EVENT
Skylar Carsons Announces Her Contendership Prize Pick!
The inaugural Ascension opened with a rumble-rules battle royale. The final two earned title opportunities against the International and Underground Championships, with first pick going to the final wrestler left in the ring. To the shock of many, that turned out to be Skylar Carsons, a brand new face on the scene. On this second episode, we end the night by finding out what route she chooses for her destiny: towards the International, held by WWH veteran Chris Matthews from Dystopia and geared towards a more pure wrestling style; or the Underground, held by the anti-wrestling insanity Aaron Jones formerly of Sanatorium and geared towards a more hardcore bent.
SEMI-MAIN
Devin Copeland vs Jacob Striker
Word Limit: 2000
Devin Copeland is a name stamped in WWH's history. It's been ages, but it seems the resurrection has brought him back to the shining arenas. Can he make current ownership proud of their decision to restore his previously redacted huge title history and entry into the Hall of Heroes? He has no small challenge in the face of someone else who's been in WWH a long time now, Jacob Striker, who just won one of two #1 Contender spots for the World Title. Striker came out of the gate on fire verbally about his allegedly denied opportunities back on Dystopia; if anyone doubted the fire behind his words, he proved it against Nakita Niles. A win for Striker would continue his ascension towards the belt that mysteriously dangled above the arena at the close of the last show. A win for Copeland would cement him in the main events and future title contention surefire.
SEMI-MAIN
Christy Winters vs Jamie Austin
Word Limit: 1000
At the beginning of the first Ascension, at the end of a harsh confrontation over being put in the battle royale (and subsequently removed), Eden assured Winters with a heavily antagonistic tone that she'd have something special this show. She wasn't kidding. Jamie Austin is the second #1 Contender for the World Championship, making her debut with much fire against her sister's previous successes here, determined to outdo her. Will the nefarious former Sanatorium inmate meet that determination in kind with her own, wanting to demonstrate why she should've been in the contender matches too? Could be a bloodbath!
MATCH FIVE
Nakita Niles vs Thomas Bane (w/ David Gibson)
Word Limit: 2000
Thomas Bane came a breath from making the final two in the battle royale last Ascension. While the new Shinigami Corporation incarnation with him alongside David Gibson has their crosshairs on resurrecting the tag division, there'll be a slight wait while management rallies the rebuilding of the tag division to find them opponents they can sink their teeth into-- that fire promo will certainly be used as a call to arms. In the meantime, Bane's close scrape with title contention levels him against Nakita Niles, who's had quite a bit of that thing lately, including last week here. Nakita coming in new to the promotion after wrestlingwide drama at ECWF likely had her distracted, but perhaps the Soldier Queen will boot that shaky debut from our memories and rally with her best stuff this time.
MATCH FOUR
Triple Threat: Darcie Daniels vs Aaron Jones vs Sarah Lynn
Word Limit: 2000
What happens when you sandwich a criminal between a hard-partying lawyer and a bounty hunter in an arena made for violence? WWH management seems determined to take the belt-destroying maniac's cybertheft from the company out in his own hide, whether or not he wants to wrestle. Sarah Lynn is sure to agree, but will Darcie Daniels be playing defense or prosecution?
MATCH THREE
Akari Kaneko vs Jenny Kay
Word Limit: 2000
It seems management just couldn't resist pitting the two gaming-fanatic wrestlers against each other immediately. Jenny got her headgear used against her last time, but Akari seems to be a tad nicer than Jamie Austin was. Who will come out feeling like they just aced Mass Effect II's perfect-version final mission, and who'll look a bit more like Leroy Jenkins did to his team? ("Don't judge me I ain't gamed in a million years" -the copywriter)
MATCH TWO
Caleb Foster vs Kirsty Mascara
Word Limit: 1500
Two members of the battle royale who didn't make it to the end face off here early in the night. Caleb Foster may have been on commentary on Dystopia for a long time, but the Hall of Heroes member needs to demonstrate that he's still got all that talent and skill that got him there in this in-ring return. Kirsty Mascara, however, has a bet running with Sarah Lynn that could make all of the difference in her now-destitute life, but she has to win and keep winning singles matches to do it. They just might be the hungriest people in the company, even if one's figuratively and the other's literally.
MATCH ONE
Abby Evans (w/ Chucky Ross) vs Gothica Skylight (w/ Ace Michaels)
Word Limit: 1000
Both these ladies didn't come out on top in the battle royale either, though Abby Evans did leagues worse. This week they're setting the pace of the rest of the night again, and perhaps their ongoing careers. The team known as Gothic Nightmare needs to ascend and be ready for the return of the tag division, while Abby really just needs to show she deserves a spot on cards in the future.
