After "This Means War" by Bullet For My Valentine plays us in, the scene comes up inside the locker room of one Chris Matthews. A man who has been part of WWH longer than anyone since the relaunch. Chris is wearing his wrestling gear and getting himself warmed up. He leans down to grab his belt and put it on his shoulder. He looks at the camera and gives a slight smirk.
CHRIS MATTHEWS:
Aaron Jones, a man that isn’t even a man. You think you're something? You're not. You want to know what I think of people like you? I think of scum.
He pats his belt while keeping his eyes on the camera.
CHRIS MATTHEWS:
You walk around with nothing and here I stand, holding this International Championship. This belt has made men and women legends. Made them join the Hall of Heroes. What about you? Hmm?
Chris just shakes his head in disappointment.
CHRIS MATTHEWS:
I made a promise to myself that I would return until I lose this belt. But you want to know something? You're nothing more than a message. Tonight, you're going to see why I'm the greatest of all time. Why am I someone who you shouldn't fuck with? Aaron, I'll see you in that ring.
Christy arrives at the arena and, seeing the booking sheet and becomes pissed, she notices Eden and rushes over.
CHRISTY WINTERS:
Are you fucking kidding with this battle royal crap, if I have to show up to a dump like this at least put me in one of the World title opportunity matches, because you fucking know I deserve that for having to endure all the crap I have.
EDEN DUBOIS:
You're just finding this out now?
The comment comes with a double eyebrow raise, a mix of genuine disbelief with a heaping helping of sass to her only in-ring rival thus far who had made her life hell back in Sanatorium.
EDEN DUBOIS:
Yeah, it's a battle royale, but the last two left standing get contenderships for the International and Asylum titles. Let me guess though, that's not good enough for you, too? Guess we should've moved heavens and earth to find Zolton so you could challenge him for the World Championship?
The part-owner's playing with fire. She might have more height and reach than her former criminal charge, but she's lighter and has a lot less muscle stretched over that frame. Not to mention knowing exactly the terrifying crimes Winters was in for.
Christy stares down her former warden.
CHRISTY WINTERS:
All I want is an honest shot, but personal grudges keep that from happening, you know that people that bought the Sanatorium shows bought them to see me get what they felt I deserved. You know I was always forced to challenge for the lesser titles, even though you knew, I could draw you major numbers as your top star. So excuse me if I think those titles aren't worth my time and effort.
Eden crosses her arms in front of herself and her expression goes serious.
EDEN DUBOIS:
My job in Sanatorium was supposed to be to prepare a bunch of people who wound up there through their violent urges to rejoin society at some point. And unlike Warden Tommy, I actually took that part seriously. Your most frequently exhibited antisocial behaviors were the blowup reactions to any kind of authority, to the point where I suspected Intermittent Explosive Disorder. But back then, I even climbed in the ring with you anyway to try to work it out in another form of therapy.
She leans in, maybe dangerously close, her tone of voice confiding.
EDEN DUBOIS:
What I see anymore when I look at you isn't the furious woman who decided to out my whole private life because of her own inner issues. Sanatorium is over. What I see when I look at you is a reflection of my own professional failing. You don't just disappoint me in you, you disappoint me in myself.
A smile that's more like bared teeth spreads across the owner's face.
EDEN DUBOIS:
Luckily, psychiatrist is not in my job description anymore. I won't be failing anyone in that aspect again. You're free, Christy, congratulations, but you're the same person I met on the first day... so are you really free at all? You're not free from the consequences of your own actions, and this isn't a really ugly sandbox to learn in like the Asylum was trying to be.
Eden's arms unfold, spread wide in invitation. To the show? To hit her? Both?
EDEN DUBOIS:
Good luck! If you don't want to go out there and give us a symphony of piledrivers till the ring's clear, if you'd rather come tell me you're worth more instead of derail the whole show right from the beginning by demonstrating you haven't lost a step in two years? You don't have to. But don't expect your bookings to improve when you refuse to fight.
CHRISTY WINTERS:
I honestly don't care, but I'll tell you what, you want me to go there and prove to those people that the sadistic bitch that was locked in a hell hole for whomever knows how long is still lurking inside, fine I do that if you truly want that, but I won't do it to stroke your ego, or even for one of those title shots, I'll do to prove that as you said I haven't lost a step in two years. So what's it gonna be, am I in or out?
EDEN DUBOIS:
Oh no, dollface, I wouldn't want you to have to demean yourself by doing something I asked ten other people to do. If only because I'd rather someone get those shots that aren't spitting on them, Aaron Jones is already enough of a nightmare in that regard. I'll have something extra-special set up for you next card, though. Bring your boots and your wrist tape! And maybe try to keep mental note that Doctor Sly brought this bitch you hate so bad back from the dead since you last saw her, so maybe she doesn't scare as easily anymore. I'm rancid meat, your opponents will be much fresher.
CHRISTY WINTERS:
Fine, I'll see you next week.
LILAH HURST:
Ladies and gentlemen, the following contest is a battle royal match. The object of this match is to throw your opponent over the top rope with both feet hitting the floor. GIA VAN ZANT:
Here we go, Gwendolyn. Time to see who wants those belts.
The two start to circle each other before locking up. Caleb, who was the bigger person, was able to take her to the corner. He backs up a bit before Abby tries to hit him with a punch. He grabs her hand and shakes his head before kicking her in the gut. She ducks and he hits her with a spinning rising knee. She takes the shot and is hit quickly with a snap suplex.

GIA VAN ZANT:
Skylar is here, and this is her first match in her wrestling career.
GWENDOLYN BLACK:
Heard so many good things about this rookie. Some say she has a lot of heart and was trained by some of the very best. But she’s standing in the ring with Caleb who is one of the best also.
Caleb and Skylar circle each other and lock up. Caleb is able to put her in a headlock, but she brings him over to the ropes and is able to throw him to the other side. He bounces off and comes back and she drops to the ground. He jumps over her and comes back while she stands up. He knocks her down with a shoulder tackle. He runs towards the ropes and Skylar stands up in time as he comes back. She is able to take him down with a hip toss. Caleb looks up at her and nods.
GIA VAN ZANT:
Caleb with a nod of approval. That’s a rare case when it comes to some veterans.
GWENDOLYN BLACK:
One of the first things you learn in this business is a hip toss. If you don’t know how to do that, you’re not going to make it.
Caleb stands up as the countdown shows up on the screen.
The song Shitlist by L7 starts to blast over the PA system. When the lead singer starts to sing, the man who is known as " The Ace of WWH" Ace Michaels starts to come on out. FILMED EARLIER flashes on the screen, then our view cuts to the backstage area where we find Jacob Striker standing with both Thomas Bane and David Gibson of the Shinigami Foundation. All three men are in their wrestling gear and look more than ready for a fight.
JACOB STRIKER:
So here we are, the first ever edition of Ascension and the return of World Wrestling Headquarters, and starting tonight, it will be a very productive run for the Foundation and myself because there are no more games and no more fools to keep us, the real professional wrestlers on this entire roster, from behind shoved over into one corner of the room simply because we don’t have some kind of catchy catch phrase that we just throw out there or we’re some kind of clown shoe comedy act.
No… tonight we start that long march towards the World and World Tag Team championships and all of the mayhem that we can cause.
DAVID GIBSON:
You see here, folks, this isn’t about the money and the power that comes with being a champion. No, for us, winning those titles is a statement to everybody that those that you all thought was nothing more than a stepping stool for you to laugh at is now official long gone because now when you’re the champion of a promotion is when you become the new measuring sticks of the division as a whole and that within itself brings a whole new kind of fun for the Foundation.
THOMAS BANE:
And most importantly tonight, we finally get to have some serious fun because if you enjoy what you do for a living, then you are doing something right and we are three men who enjoy being professional wrestlers because we enjoy constantly testing ourselves against the supposed best in the business that’s out there.
So Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to the greatest show unearthed…welcome to the horror show courtesy of the Shinigami Foundation!!
Jacob and the Foundation head out as the camera fades back to ringside
After entrances and ring announcements, Jenny and Jamie begin exchanging various strikes before Jenny seemingly gains the advantage with a Snap DDT. Jenny then begins to do the Yes Kicks when, after about two or three kicks, Jamie grabs Jenny's leg before violently throwing her down and hits Jenny with a Spinning Back Fist. Then Jamie starts to play with Jenny by piefacing her and whatnot.
As Jenny tries to regain an advantage, Jamie kicks her in the gut and places her into a Front Facelock. Then Jamie proceeds to perform her Snake, Rattle, and Roll (3 Amigos). As she goes to cover Jenny, the ref makes the count, but Jamie pulls up Jenny at two.
The ref makes an argument that she had it won, but Jamie picks Jenny back up and goes behind her and locks her into a Pumphandle position. After a few moments, a smile comes across Jamie's face as she lifts Jenny and drops her with Liar's Poison (Pumphandle Powerbomb.) As she makes the cover, Jamie grabs the headgear that Jenny is wearing to hold her down better. The ref makes the count and indicates that Jamie Austin is the winner.

Nakita is seen backstage, waiting for her match. This moment has been everything that she would have wanted. From being fired, to possibly being back on top where she belongs. She keeps her body in shape and breathes in while the camera is in front of her.
NAKITA NILES:
Tonight could be the night where I'm back on top. After a heck of a week, I deserve this opportunity more than anyone. Jacob Striker, I give you plenty of respect, but this is my night. This is my opportunity so that I won't slip away.
She takes a moment to breathe and cracks her neck.
NAKITA NILES:
Most people would kill for this chance. And I'd be lying if I didn't feel the same way. Tonight, you’re going to see what I'm made of. Tonight, I got back on top. Whether you like it or not, Nakita Niles is the real deal.
She smiles as the scene fades to the ring and awaits the next match.
After entrances and ring announcements, Nakita and Jacob lock up. A series of chain wrestling occurs as they try to see who gains the advantage by locking in Arm Locks, Lucha Libre holds and whatnot. Then after a few more moments, Nakita gains the advantage with a Hammerlock before transitioning it into a Hammerlock Inverted DDT. Then she tries to go for a cover but doesn't even get a one count before he's getting up nailing the stunned Nakita with a Multiple Forearm Smashes before stopping to see if she retaliates.
She suddenly pops off a Tilt-A-Whirl Headscissors Takedown as Jacob hits the mat. But as she goes to follow up, Jacob suddenly pops up and blasts her with a Discus Elbow Smash to disorient her and leave her in a stunned state near the corner.
Then Jacob primes himself up and hits The Ruffian Kick (Discus Big Boot) to knock Nakita to the corner. Then he starts to taunt Nakita to get up. After a few more moments, Jacob violently grabs Nakita and holds her in place until he grabs her and locks in an Inverted Facelock. He does a cutthroat to indicate that it is the end and hits The Death Warrant (Hammerlock Rolling Cutter.) Then he covers Nakita as the ref makes the three count and indicates Jacob has attained the victory.

Are you accusing me of engaging in some consumption of Colombian nose candy?! Gawd, never fucking mind, just focus on the match, ok?
The ref starts counting finally, and at 4.99999 Jones releases the grip and backs up with both hands raised and a snarky expression. Matthews comes out of the corner with a heavy shove, irritated by Jones' roughhousing demeanor as if he wasn't irritated enough by his lack of respect for a championship belt. Jones is talking shit that the mics can't pick up, another lockup and Jones with the waistlock, Matthews counters into a waistlock of his own, Jones takes the arm in a wrench and jerks Matthews around by it, punishingly. Matthews twists, flipping over to invalidate the torque, kips to his feet and torques Jones' arm in turn. Now Jones is the one kneeling and struggling, makes it up and Matthews turns it into a hammerlock, Jones counters with a hammerlock of his own but Matthews has it undone in seconds. Jones can't get out, twisting as he tries, and Matthews flips it into an armdrag.
GIA VAN ZANT:
I didn't expect chain wrestling in this match, but Chris Matthews is keeping control with it and keeping it in his strengths-- technical and submission. Aaron Jones can do technical, but it's not his foremost strength.
Matthews hauls him to his feet, twisting the arm he's been working and shoving him to the ropes-- Jones counters and takes him down on the return with an unexpectedly tight drop toehold, legs actually locking around Matthews' rather than the lazy trip many resort to. He doesn't stay with it though, floating over to try to grasp his head, Matthews evades and rolls to his feet. Jones catches him charging in with a back elbow, rocking Matthews. Point of Jones' elbow is catching Matthews in the face ugly and repeatedly, swellings already puffing up from the contact though it doesn't bust him open. He swings a wide clothesline that Matthews ducks, but on rebound Jones catches him and drops him neck-first across the ropes hotshot style.
GIA VAN ZANT:
It's not no-disqualification, but Jones resorting to brawling how he can, by using the ring itself. Not illegal, technically!
Matthews is holding his neck, trying to catch his breath. Jones hangs his throat over the bottom rope and stands on his back till he's used up that 4.999 count again. Matthews falls on his back gasping, Jones steps to the apron and stomps on him, trying to keep him from catching his breath. Then he goes back in, slingshotting him up into the rope again.
The ref is jumping all over Jones. Jones is ignoring him, rolling out of the ring to throw an elbow into the neck again and climbs back in. Feeling like he's practically already won, he climbs a turnbuckle and taunts the booing crowd. Matthews has rolled out to catch his breath, letting Jones waste time to his advantage momentarily.
GWENDOLYN BLACK:
Aaron Jones is dying to set up that Insanity Choke here, wanting to make sure it's at maximum effectiveness when he decides to win, but Matthews has to know that by now too.
GIA VAN ZANT:
Lookit you contributing, Gwen. Maybe you're not just a nepotism hire after all.
Matthews has rolled back in, Jones tries to lock in around his neck but Matthews won't let him close-- a violent slugfest ensues, going much harder and longer but a lot more groggy than it did on our opening. Jones starts to throw Matthews into a turnbuckle corner-- but Matthews counters suddenly, violently, and desperately, Jones hitting so hard he bounces right back out-- right into--
GIA VAN ZANT:
KRAV MAGA! That inverted spinning elbow strike!
GWENDOLYN BLACK:
Jones hit a lot of elbow strikes in this match, and Matthews just paid all of them back in one tremendous decapitating blow!
Jones is on hands and knees, coughing reflexively from the crushing shock to his esophagus. Matthews doesn't pin immediately, slowed from the cumulative windpipe attacks himself. He circles Jones like a starving lion, haggard and desperate.
GWENDOLYN BLACK:
Pin him! You have to pin him, now!
GIA VAN ZANT:
Oh no, don't you see what he's doing?! He's about to-- REIGN OF THUNDER!
Jones has been curbstomped, that breath he was trying to catch abruptly cut off as he gets a face full of wrestling mat. NOW Matthews pins.
LILAH HURST:
Your winner via pinfall, CHRIS MATTHEWS!
GIA VAN ZANT:
Matthews and Jones are now tied at 1-1 in career faceoffs! But it's hard to celebrate when you can't breathe any better than your opponent.
Matthews has fallen back, both men exhausted. If there was any respect between them, it'd be that moment when they shoulderpatted or fistbumped from their prone positions. But instead, "God of War" begins to play.
GWENDOLYN BLACK:
Well, thank you for joining us at the very first Ascension, we've certainly made history here.
Each man rolls to a different side, but "God of War" trails off more abruptly than one would expect. The arena lights go dark, shining a blue spot light down upon the ring, and dangling from the ceiling is none other than the biggest prize in the World Wrestling Headquarters, the World Heavyweight Championship.
You all think that you are going to get this championship belt by winning a single match? You, Jamie Austin, and you, Jacob Striker, think just because you won tonight that this prestigious belt is within your grasp. We have something to say about that.
The sound of many voices both male and female, mixed into one echoing and harmonizing throughout the arena.
Tonight marked something in history. The ultimate and triumphant return of the World Wrestling Headquarters. The triumphant return of the stars of this company. But one star is missing. The superstar of this company. Who might that be, ladies and gentlemen? Well, we are here to tell you... figure it out yourselves. You see, this superstar is the only one that matters. The one that no one thinks still exists on the planet. But this person does. This person belongs in the World Heavyweight Championship match.
Suddenly a lightning bolt shoots across the ring, explodes just above the ring just like before, and as the smoke clears the World Heavyweight Championship is no longer hanging above the ring.
Upon the arrival of this person, this superstar, the superstar of World Wrestling Headquarters, you will all know that the end of your praise of these wrestlers tonight will come to a heartbreaking end. This night is historic. But the next Ascension will exceed this one by a long shot. We are here to let Jamie Austin and Jacob Striker know they are not worthy of holding the World Championship. There is only one person worthy of holding that championship. They are coming.
The voices trail off into the ether of the arena atmosphere, bringing an end to the return show of WWH, Ascension.
Matchwriting thanks to Chris Matthews/Caleb Foster, Eden, and Gary Black.
The following superstars who drew number one and number two will be starting. After sixty seconds, another superstar will enter the match. The match ends when there is only one superstar left standing and will be the person to pick what title they want to go after.
The fans are in their seats awaiting who drew number one.
LILAH HURST:
Entering first, he hails from Davenport, Iowa. Weighing in at TWO HUNDRED AND TEN POUNDS! He is “THE LONE WOLF” CALEB FOSTER!!
The lights go out and you can hear the sounds of wolves howling throughout the arena. That's when a wolf symbol with the name Caleb Foster shows up. Kingdom by Downstait hits the PA system. That's when Caleb Foster comes out from behind the curtain. He's wearing a black leather vest with a hood. His pants are blue and white. He has black elbow pads on his elbows, black gloves, and black boots with blue boot pads. His arms are spread and take the hood off his head and that's when he looks forward as the crowd cheers. The lights turn white and blue.
He brings his arms up and connects his hands. It shows his initials, CF. He lowers his arms and begins to walk off the stage and begins to walk down the ramp. He stops and looks at the fans at the bottom and points at them. He walks towards the steel steps and begins to climb them. He walks alongside the ring before entering. He enters and walks towards the corner and climbs it. He brings his arms up and puts his gloves together once again before lowering them. He takes off his vest and throws it to the side before climbing down. The music fades and plants his back against the corner awaiting to see who drew number two.
LILAH HURST:
The person who drew number two…she hails from BALTIMORE, MARYLAND! She is Abby Evans.
Linkin Park cues up as Abby walks out, her hands behind her back as she sticks her tongue out at the camera before walking to the ring. She slides up on the apron, gives out a scream, and slowly seductively crawls under the bottom rope before sitting in the corner and just staring at Caleb Foster.
Lilah Hurst moves toward the ropes and gets out of it. The ref on the outside signals for the bell to start the match.
DING! DING! DING!
Caleb is taking control of this match rather quickly.
GWENDOLYN BLACK:
Caleb is a veteran and knows his way around the ring, Gia.
Caleb picks her up by the back of her neck before throwing her over the top rope and being eliminated from this match.
ELIMINATION: Abby Evans
Caleb stands in the middle of the ring as Abby Evans has to walk to the back in shame. Caleb looks up as the clock goes down from ten.
"Demolition Lovers" plays for around 30 seconds before Skylar comes out with a baseball cap backward and a jacket over her ring gear. She takes off her hat and jacket as she starts to run down the ramp and slide into the ring. Caleb and Skylar look at each other.
Skylar won the match, Black. Question is, who is she going to pick?
GWENDOLYN BLACK:
That’s a tough one, Zant. Both Matthews and Jones are tough as they come whoever she picks, it won’t be easy.
WINNER VIA PINFALL: Jamie Austin
The match ends and the music doesn't play, the arena lights go dark. Lightning pyro flies through the arena and explodes just above the ring. The big screen on the stage illuminates with three simple words.
YOU'RE NOT WORTHY
WINNER VIA PINFALL: Jacob Striker
The match ends and the music doesn't play, the arena lights go dark. Lightning pyro flies through the arena and explodes just above the ring. The big screen on the stage illuminates with three simple words.
YOU'RE NOT WORTHY
The camera shows Kirsty Mascara walking down a hallway. She stops walking and sees Sarah Lynn in front of her. Kirsty runs up to Sarah.
THE ENTITY | KIRSTY MASCARA
Hi, Sarah.
Sarah Lynn turns around and looks at Kirsty Mascara.
THE FATE CHANGER | SARAH LYNN
What do you want?
THE ENTITY | KIRSTY MASCARA
I just wanted to say hi, because we’re friends.
THE FATE CHANGER | SARAH LYNN
You and I aren’t friends. On the day you and I first met, I thought of you as a daft trainee who was looking up to me with a dream of being just as good as me. Guess what, Kirsty, you will never be as good as me in the ring. Although I will admit that you do have one thing, and that’s the cause of my original frustration. Despite the fact that you’re below me, you took all of my intentions in WWH away from me. So unless you’re here to apologize for that.
THE ENTITY | KIRSTY MASCARA
I’m not going to apologize for my hard work, however I am going to ask you, what’s this Diamond Mafia Brand all about?
THE FATE CHANGER | SARAH LYNN
The only thing that I’m going to tell you is that they knew that this moment would happen, so they gave me very strict orders not to have a backstage brawl with you, because they want to make you an offer.
THE ENTITY | KIRSTY MASCARA
I’m not going to join a brand that has Mafia in their name.
THE FATE CHANGER | SARAH LYNN
They’re well aware of the fact that you wouldn’t join, just like they’re aware of the fact that you need money to afford a home to live in. You see, Kirsty, in WWH, you and I haven’t lost any one on one matches that we’ve had in WWH. I’ve won six of them, and you’ve won three. Combined that’s nine, and times that by a thousand is nine thousand, and then you add the word dollars and that’s nine thousand dollars. As far as The Diamond Mafia goes, that’s the current value of a bet that they want to offer you to be part of.

From Dallas, Texas, he is The Insanity, Aaron Jones!
"Spit It Out" by Slipknot plays over the sounds system as he comes out wearing a blue and black of mask across his nose and mouth from his coat, stopping on the ramp to bounce up and down four times as he raises his finger up before walking down the ramp, ignoring the fans as he turns his head to the cameras. He slides into the ring, before going on the turnbuckle and does a pose and people boo for him as he gets down from the turnbuckle, taking his coat off to drop it down to the floor and then sits behind a turnbuckle corner, waiting for his opponent to come out through the curtain.
The camera looks at the ring and begins to move around it slowly. The fans in the audience wait patiently until the lights go out. You finally hear the words spoken throughout the arena with a deep voice. The Mega-tron was red, along with the mini-Tron, the stage, and the ramp. He starts to move again and walks towards the steel steps. He walks alongside the ring and turns around as his back rests against the ropes. He grabs the ropes to make sure they are secured enough.

I was going to snark and say 'you'd think he was putting a title on the line at Dreamstate with the amount of fuss', but this IS the main event of the very first WWH show in years, so maybe it's bigger than Dreamstate, to be honest. We had to overcome some huge odds to do this at all, and I know management was glad to get Matthews back, whether or not it's long term. Unlike some of us, he hasn't been chillin' at home in the meantime. Or in a cell, in Jones' case. But I hear prison makes you hard-- for the segment of weirdo fans out there, not that kinda hard-- speaking of, hey Gwen, since I haven't mentioned it yet, you may be oddly flat expressionwise, but thank you for not being a perfectly respectable person who weirdly turns into a dithering idiot fangirl every time a skinnyfat narcissist with a fake tan shows up, like my last broadcast colleague.

The odd conversation is derailed as the stareoff and jawjacking Matthews and Jones had been engaging in breaks abruptly into violence before our eyes. Jones has thrown the first punch, and though Matthews might be more strongly technical minded he's no slouch in returning fire. They lock up violently, Matthews getting the tactical upper hand and backing Jones into a corner, but Jones manages to lock his arms around Matthews' neck. Matthews is weaseling his hand between Jones' arms to ward off a choke, but can't get enough leverage to totally invalidate his control as Jones twists and exchanges places, pushing Matthews back first into the turnbuckle instead.
GWENDOLYN BLACK:
It means that it seems like you've had some coffee since the first match of the evening, if not something a little stronger.
