~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Scene 1 Β» intervention ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Chris Matthews is at the Xtreme Camp training ground. He's inside the men's locker room sitting down on a bench, thinking about what went wrong against Aaron Jones. Chris has pretty much been failing at every attempt so far since he decided to come back to the WWH. It was almost the same old story when Chris felt like nothing more than a jobber to the wrestlers. Chris doesn't mind helping others, but it gets to a point where Chris can't handle it anymore. After the loss, he got told by the GM that he's going to get a shot against The current WWH International Champion, Stephanie Matsuda. Chris is wearing a black sleeveless shirt, workout pants, and black sneakers on his feet. We hear men and women being trained in the room next door in the practice ring. We see Everett walking into the locker room wearing black gym shorts, a black sleeveless shirt, and black and white sneakers on his feet. He goes and sits down next to Chris and looks at him.
"Hey, you're supposed to be in that practice ring helping train the future superstars. You know I can't handle these guys and gals on my own."
"Yeah, I know. I just got a lot of things on my mind right now. Fuck! I can't believe I let Aaron get in my mind like that. How could I sit back and takes that shot?"
"Wait, what? What happened exactly?"
"Aaron talked shit about Ryan Reigns. It fucking threw me off my game, and it cost me. I CAN'T BELIEVE IT!!!"
Everett shakes his head as he can't believe how upset Chris is right now. Everett knows Chris and knows that anyone talking about Ryan can throw him in the wrong direction. Everett wants to make sure that Chris keeps that mindset straight.
"Hey, one bad apple doesn't defy who you are, Chris. You are Chris Fucking Matthews. You're the type of man that will slap someone before even looking at them. Who do you have next anyways?"
"Stephanie Matsuda and it's for her International Championship. I have to say that I have no idea why I'm in this match? Knowing how I am, I'm going to fail once..."
That was when Everett slaps Chris to keep his mind straight. Everett has always been the type of guy to help keep his mind focus on the bigger picture. He then points at Chris and wags his finger.
"SHUT UP, CHRIS! YOU KNOW DAMN WELL THAT KIND OF TALK ISN'T ALLOWED! You will get your head on right, and you will take that title from her. You held every title, but two, and one of them is the International Championship and the Asylum Championship."
Chris rubs his cheek slowly after the hit on his cheek. No doubt that it's going to leaves a mark on his cheek.
"FUCK! That hurts."
"That's the point, Chris. You need to get your ass in order if you want to get that belt."
"You think I don't know that, Everett? Fuck! I don't know how many times I busted my ass to get somewhere, only for it to bite me in the ass."
"Which is why you need to get back to the man that you were before. I want to bring the fight that I know you can do. Chris, you're one of those guys that don't break easily..."
"But I did, and that's the worse part. I can't even imagine what I'm still going through because of Aaron's words."
"Fuck that bitch boy. You move on and think about the match against Stephanie and take that belt. I want you to show her the Chris Matthews that burnt Eric Draven's sister. I want you to be the man that faced Ryan Reign in hell in a cell. I want you to be the Chris Matthews that took on Randy Fields in a BattleGrounds match and made him your bitch."
"Which I lost by the way."
"SHUT UP! The point is, I want you to show the world that Chris Matthews is the type of man that will sink as low as he can to get what he wants."
He takes a moment to think about those words and letting them sink in. He doesn't want to go back to that moment as it would be something that he wouldn't be able to crawl out it. It would be something that would sink to the depth of his soul and turn his heart black. But if he wants to win, he has to do it. He has to unleash the dark side of him if he wants to win the belt. If he does, he wouldn't be able to crawl out of it. It would be something that would take over him. Everett continues to talk, but you can't hear him. It was almost like the entire world went silent. That's when you hear Everett speak to Chris.
"Chris, are you listening to me? Did you even hear a single word that I said to you?"
"Wait, what? I'm sorry, my mind was on something. What did you say?"
"I said, you need to unleash your inner Chris Matthews. You have to give Stephanie the fight and unleash the inner architect. You need to be the man who went on and burned Eric Drav en sister and not thought twice about it. You need to be the man who went after Strangler and Scotty Paine. You need to be the man who drilled Ryan Reigns' face into a steel chair. God rest his soul, but you know what I mean. You need to be the man who doesn't give a damn about any other people feeling but his own. If you don't, then you will fail as you did against Aaron Jones."
"I don't know if I can do that, Everett. I don't know if I have the will to do something that evil. Cause if I did, I wouldn't be able to crawl out of that hole this time. I got away from it last time, but if I went back there, I wouldn't stop it this time. I wouldn't have the strength to fight if I went that low."
"Exactly. You do that, and you will win. If you want to hold that belt, you have to dig into that inner evil. You have to grab Stephanie by the throat and rip it out. You become the thing that you let die a long time ago, and you know it."
Everett stands up and grabs his bag, and opens it. He pulls out Chris' old combat knife. Chris turns and sees the knife and wondering what Everett is doing.
"Chris, you know what this is, right?"
"Yeah, but why are you showing me this?"
Everett sighs. "Because you know what you need to do. You need to grab this knife and use it. I want you to be the man that you once were and not this bitch boy that you've become. You let Jonna beat you, and so did Aaron. No longer will you let that happen. Now take it."
Chris looks down at the knife as Everett wants Chris to be the man that he once was. If he does, there will be no coming back from it. But Chris knows this to be true even if he doesn't want to go back to that place. That place where his demons come out to play. Chris looks up at Everett and stands up from the bench. His eyes look at him and take it all in.
"No. I won't take it, Everett. I'm going back to that place. I'm going to this all without going to a place in my heart where the blood runs black."
Everett grunts as he can't believe what he's hearing. Everett knows that Chris needs this knife, and he knows that the only way Chris to win is by going back to who he once was.
"Chris, I want you to take this knife and be the man that you were. I know deep in your heart that you need it. Take it and show the world just who you are."
"As I said, no. I'm going back. So, drop the knife because you know it won't work on me. I refuse, and I will NEVER EVER GO BACK! So, why don't you go back and train those guys and gals?"
Everett shakes his head and puts the knife down. He walks away from the bench and leaving Chris alone to go back to training the guys and girls for the future. He walks away, but then a hand grabs the knife. It was Chris Matthews holding and gave a smile. Is Chris Matthews going back to that dark place? Everything will get answered soon enough. ================================ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Scene 2 Β» Chris new side ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ When Chris Matthews walked into Dystopia to face Stephanie Matsuda, how did he feel? The matches Chris Matthews has played in the past have led him to this match. Chris knows just how hard it is to fight a champion and how far they will go to keep the belt. He knows what it's like to step into the ring with one. However, Chris' goal is to get what he deserves. This moment is for him after all the bullshit that he's been through. There is nothing more important than this moment for him. Can he win the title without going to that dark place? He doesn't want to go through that dark place again, but what other choice does he have? There will be no returning from that dark place if he has to go there.
The scene takes place in a park during the evening hour and is in Chicago, Illinois. Portage Park is surrounded by trees and is named after the Portage River. There are stars and moons in the sky, as well as lights in the park. Through the gate, we see a man entering the park, and this man is Chris Matthews. His outfit consists of a black shirt, black leather jacket, slightly faded loose-fitting jeans, and Air Jordans. A small bridge crosses a small pond as he walks past the trees. He gets a smile on his face and walks off the bridge. He walks back on the path and moves towards a small building, where he opens it with his hand. He entered the building and closed the door behind him.
The camera moves towards the building as the door opens slowly. That's when a small light comes on, and you can see Chris Matthews sitting down on a steel chair. His back rests against the back of the chair as he gets a huge smile on his face.
"Dystopia will be a place where everything comes around for someone like me. I go into that ring and take on the International Champion, Stephanie Matsuda. She is the woman who went on and became something that nobody thought was possible, and that was to be the International Champion. She's talented, and I know that she's going to bring it. But before I start with her, I have to think about everything that happened to me against Aaron Jones."
"You see, he went on and talked about Ryan, and that hit me in the heart. It made me feel weak, but I have to give the man credit, he showed me something that I never thought of, and I have to bring it. Aaron, I want to thank you. Thank you for showing me something that I never thought possible."
He put his hand on his chin and began to rub his beard. He takes in everything that Aaron said about him and also takes in everything that Everett told him. Chris knows that he has to bring back that evil that once resides inside of him.
"But those mind games from him seem to be working. I thought it wasn't possible, but it is. It is because I allowed it. But that's why I'm thanking him."
He gets a smile on his face, which shows him bringing back that darkness that once was inside of him. The man that he thought was dead and gone. He leans up and puts his back against the back of the steel chair, and rubs his beard some more. His eyes are still on the camera as he finally talks about Stephanie this time.
"Which then brings me to you, Stephanie. Thanks to him, I'm going to unleash evil upon you. I'm going to make sure that you understand the hatred that runs through my mind. I'm going to make you feel the pain that Jones put me through. Why? Because I realize that I can't be the guy that people want me to be, and that's fine by me. I don't need or want people to fight by my side. I can handle this all on my own as I have in the past. So, going into this match alone without help is right up my alley."
Chris knows that he needs to make this count and eliminate all the bullshit he went through since coming back to this company. Chris has always shown heart and will to be the best that he can be. He wanted to be the role model for everyone to prove you don't need to be a complete asshole to get anywhere. But that's all changed thanks to Aaron Jones. Now Chris has the urge to bring back what he thought was dead and buried. But that's wrong, and Chris knows it. Chris doesn't want to do that, but he may have no choice in the matter. Is this the way to do it? Is this his path in this fight?
"Is this my reality? Is this something that I must do to win? Do I go back to that darkness that I kept buried to better myself? That's the question that runs through my mind, and I can't help but know I must. But the problem is, I don't want to do it. I don't want to do it because I know that if I go back, I won't be able to crawl out of that ooze and go back to how everything was." Smile "Because maybe I like it. I like how it feels to know that I can snap your neck like a twig and not even bat an eye. You're a legend, no doubt about that, Stephanie. You've been through the wringer more times than I like to count. I see the pride in your eyes for everything that you've ever done. I see the spitfire in your eyes, and I see the way you look at the fans. You have everything going for you, and nobody can take that away from you. But you have so much pride that it makes me sick to my stomach. It makes me want to vomit on everything because I was that way before. I was like that because I knew deep down I had to be the better man for me, my family, and those fans."
He takes a moment and thinks more and more about if this is right. He knows that if he takes Stephanie's pride, it would be the end of the human side of Chris Matthews. He never wanted it to be this way, but Everett and Aaron made it clear that it got to happen. He needs to be the champion that can make the International division relevant again.
"Stephanie..." Laughs and shakes his head. "Oh Stephanie, I know what you're thinking, and I know that deep down, you want to continue to be the person that you want to be. I look in your eyes, and I know that deep down, you're scared. You're scared of the man that I'm going to become, and that's going to be your downfall. If I become the man who I once was, then I can't be held accountable for what I'm going to do to you. What happens is something that no man or woman dares go through. "
"Everything lead me to this moment, Stephanie. Everything that I've been through has shown me the path that I'm going to be on, and there is no way in hell I'm going off this path. At Dystopia, not only do I have to beat you..."
As he gives off an angry look. "I have to break you. I have to humble you. I have to show you the deepest part of my heart where the blood runs black. I have to show you just what kind of mistake you have brought upon yourself. At Dystopia, I'm going to grab you by the throat and rip it out. I'm going to shove it down your throat where you can no longer breathe. I'm going to make you wish you never won that International Championship." Shakes his head "For that, you're run is going to die and you can thank me for it. I'm not the man that I once was, Stephanie. I'm the new Chris Matthews, and everyone is going to see it. They will see me at Dystopia, and they will see Chris Matthews standing over you in victory."
He grunts as feeling everything that Aaron has said, and that makes him chuckle.
"Stephanie, at Dystopia, I'm going to make you understand why I'm the most destructive force in this company. Nobody stands close to me, and they know it. They know that deep down that I'm the man that everyone wants to be."
"At Dystopia, not only am I going to take your Championship, Stephanie, but I'm also...
"GOING TO BURN YOU DOWN!"
