Chaos is a LadderAdam Malone hadn't been under contract for the World Wrestling Headquarters for very long, but there was only one word he would use to describe the events that had occurred since his signing: chaotic.
When he agreed to come back to the wrestling industry, he knew that he would have to take on bigger guys, like Djinn. He also knew there'd be multiple times when he had to keep his eyes on more than one person, such as the triple threat he'd narrowly escaped. Never in his wildest dreams did he believe he'd be thrown into an Asylum for his first match, to not only wrestle the largest man he's seen in YEARS, but also the newest Sanatorium GM appointee. Chaos was certainly a word you could use to describe what transpired within the ring that night. All in all, he took it in stride and walked away with the win, saying goodbye for the Sanatorium hopefully for the first and last time.
All of this initial crazyness was to simply lead to his first match on Dystopia, against a returning Colton Kato who had already managed to gain a lot of popularity upon his return to the industry. Like Adam, Colton had been somewhat of a name years ago, even becoming a General Manager, before disappearing into retirement. Now he was back within the industry, and looking to take names. Of course, Adam happened to be his very first opponent.
When asked ow this made him feel, he could only retort that he had mixed feelings. Colton was a talented individual that deserved another run at the top, but so did Adam. The difference would be who wants it more.
"Wow, Faithful! We sure are have to a grand start, aren't we?!"
At first, all you can hear are the harsh waves crashing down onto the rugged rocks of the cliffside. The voice, however, is one that is fast becoming recognizable to the WWH fans. He was on the last Dystopia, if even just the introduce himself, as well as the last Sanatorium of course, for anyone who watches both brands. As the visuals come to life, "Iron" Adam Malone stands in front of the view. The area around him is sandy, much like a beach, most likely somewhere in California seeing as how that's where Dystopia is set to take place.
It's windy, sometimes more than others, but Adam still has on a brown suede jacket, his hands within his pockets. At least, it looks as if his hands are headed towards his front jacket pockets, you can only really make out his top portion due to the point-of-view. When we first see him, Adam isn't even paying attention to the camera, but instead, he's looking out across the ocean - into the nothingness ahead, beyond the horizon line.
"I knew my opponents last week were going to be tough ones, and I knew it was going to be a brand new experience for me to wrestle in a place like the Sanatorium...but I took that opportunity and ran with it. Now not only does the Sanatorium know my name, but now I think I've also got the rest of the WWH listening too."
The camera pans out and is stops about mid section on Adam. This doesn't seem like much at first but it's a quick realization that dimension is now a lot easier to make out. Adam is standing up on a cliff, looking down upon the beach and the beautiful never-ending ocean. In the distance, the sun has started to set. Malone slowly turns his head to face towards the camera.
"Normally I wouldn't be so arrogant as to say that the rest of WWH must have been watching my match. It was my first back, naturally I wouldn't expect many to care except for the Faithful. However, now I'm finally going to find myself on Dystopia and I am going up against the one and only - Colton Kato!"
Reaching his hand from his pocket, he pulled out what appeared to be a gold mining cart in miniature form. Miniature as in it fits into the palm of Adam's hand. The cart itself looks wooden, except it has the words 'KATO' written on one side of it. Adam turns around, just as the camera pans out even further. Next to Adam, is what looks to be a small cardbound project. The scenery looks to be some sort of rollercoaster of tracks of some sort. Adam bends down, placing the KATO cart upon a specific track. As your eyes follow it, you can see the track the cart is on leads upwards. However, there is a second trail coming from the opposite direction that appears to be empty.
"That's okay everyone, you can cheer if you'd like to cheer. I know that if I was sitting in your exact spot, seeing the return of Colton Kato on our last Dystopia, I - too - would have been raised from my seat in excitement. Don't get me wrong, I have strived to get back to where I am for a very long time. I've fought tooth and nail to even get this contract here, but at the root of my being, I am a professional wrestling fan. Nothing warms my heart more than to see great moments happen, and the return of Colton Kato to professional wrestling was certainly one of those days! If this was the same time last year, I'd be watching at home on my couch, hootin' and hollarin' down the block. Believe me!"
Reaching down, Adam moves the KATO cart ever so slowly along the track, pausing when the goldmine cart is about halfway to the top. Malone takes a look at the length the cart has traveled thus far, making a small slow clap before continuing.
"But now, I come to you, this camera in front of my face, and I'm standing at a very different place than I was last year..."
From out of his opposite pocket, that he had been keeping his right hand in the entire time, Malone pulls a second cart. This cart is almost exactly like the first one, only it has the words MALONE on the side. Adam places it on the opposite side of the track, still pointing upwards by clearly behind the progress of the KATO cart.
"Now, I'm standing with the whole world in front of me. Now, I've got the entire industry wondering if I'm going to make good on my words, if I'm going to make something of myself in this business like I should have before my injury. Now I've got the Faithful counting on me, and...well, I just don't have the luxury of being a fan of Colton Kato any longer."
With a long sigh and a nod, Adam moved his own cart to make it even with the KATO card. It was easy to see that Adam didn't have the heart to go out there and destroy and upstanding opponent, but he DID however have the heart to do what he needed to get the job done. He was ere for a purpose, and hopefully the WWH universe would begin to understand that purpose sooner, rather than later. Until then, he's take on any giant in front of him.
"Don't get me wrong, Colton has always been a beast inside that ring. Colton has always put his best foot forward and proven just why he is one of the best wrestlers this side of he Mississippi. I'd want nothing more than to see Kato come back in full force, win his debut match and make a line towards the top of the World Championhip...but I just can't afford that. It's got to be me that comes at him full force, it's got to be me that wins my debut match, and it's got to be me that makes a line for the World Championship. Maybe not the World Championship at first. Possibly the International or the Affliction Championship is calling my name, but I think you understand where I'm coming from, Faithful. There just are no other options."
Malone shrugged, knowing there to really be no higher form of respect than giving your all inside that ring. That's exactly what he was setting out to do against Colton Kato, and anyone else in that ring. Adam looked down at the cardboard beside him, making another long sigh before reaching down once again. He touched the KATO cart, slowly but surely moving it all the way to the tip top of the cardboard. He took a step back, nodding that it seemed quite right.
"I respect the hell out of you, Kato, and in another universe, we'd both be making our comebacks at a different time. Unfortunately, that's not the case here. Unfortunately, it's going to have to be you versus I. Unfortunately one of us has to go down and unfortunately Colton, that's going to have to be you!"
Again, Malone looked back at where the two carts remained upon the tracks, with KATO sitting at the top. Now, he moved the MALONE cart along the tracks as well, once again catching up and sitting next to the KATO cart with ease. Adam took his hand off the cart, starring at the two at the top of the mountain. If it only were that simple.
"You see, you may not have been away from the ring as long as I have Colton, and maybe you think that even gives you some sort of edge, maybe you think that's what's going to get me tripped up - how long I've been out of the game. Well, I'll put your mind at ease with that one Colton, and let you know that I have trained for this very moment ever since I was carried out of the ring on that stretcher. I have dreamed of this moment every single night since my neck was broken. I know where I am, I know where I'm going and I know what I have to do to get there!"
For the last time of the promo, Adam Malone nodded to the camera and sighed, but this time, it was a much longer and different sigh. He turned around, slowly grabbing the KATO cart off of the track and chucking it out into the ocean. The camera followed as the small cart tumbled down the cliff and into the water below with a splash, more than likely smashing into a million pieces against the rocks just moments after. The moment was bittersweet.
"You emerged from the chaos of this place, just like I did. But now, I've got to use this chaos as a ladder, and climb. On Dystopia, you'll find out why they call me Iron Adam Malone, Kato. I'll see you out there, kid!"
Malone salutes the camera as it begins to move to the left. Before long, all that was insight was the beautiful sunset upon the horizon. Who knows what lie ahead?
