Dystopia ended up being a night for The Revolutionaries, Renee Jonae once again captured the Women's Championship, and Vincent finally recaptured the Affliction Championship after a nearly two year chase. The result begs the question however, where does this leave Victoria? It could be argued her motivation and support helped push her teammates that much more, but what does her own future hold now that she’s the one WITHOUT a championship?
It’s a nice quiet day in downtown Syrene, the breeze blowing through Victoria's hair is in her opinion of just the right temperature. The cameras find her perched on a bench, seated on the backside with her feet placed where one should be sitting, because that’s how the cool kids sit of course. Her smile is as vibrant as usual, making one feel safe and welcome.
[Victoria] So, how about that Dystopia? I can’t express enough how happy I am for Renee, or how proud I am of Vincent. They both never gave up on themselves or their goals and it got them to where they wanted to be, and now The Revolutionaries hold the Womens and Affliction championships. Of course, we’re not here to talk about them. We’re here to talk about what comes next for Victoria Lyons.
Victoria subtly rubs her empty shoulder, as though holding an invisible championship, casually glancing at the belt that isn’t there.
[Victoria] The answer is easy. I do the same as my fellow Revolutionaries, keep pushing forward until I achieve my own goals. My goal of course is to hold the women's championship. I realize that could mean I’d have to face Renee, but she said it herself it’s only a matter of time before we face off for the championship. It’s just up to me to earn my way there.
Victoria takes a breath, and flips back her blonde hair.
[Victoria] So my next challenge is Jacoby Spencer, someone who up until recently we hadn’t seen in a while. Yet someone whose name isn’t forgotten around these parts, particularly in Sanatorium. I understand that Jacoby Spencer is a very dangerous man, and someone who can absorb an inhuman amount of punishment. One only needs to see his run with the then Utopia Championship to know that, but much like that championship has changed, so have many other things around WWH.
The camera stays focused on Victoria, still perched like a cool kid on the bench.
[Victoria] You probably remember me as just a manager to my brother and The Pride. You even went to war with our old friend Simon, and what an electrifying encounter that one was. As you can probably tell now, I got tired of watching from the sidelines and stepped in the ring to create my own destiny. And you? I hear you’re a father now. Congratulations.
Victoria smiles and gives a short applause, genuinely happy for Jacoby starting a family.
[Victoria] That’s really great for you, honestly. I imagine you want your child to watch you, and see how great their father is and the whole nine yards in that regard and I can respect that. However I won’t let that get in the way of me achieving my own goals. If you want your kid to see their father as a fighter, then I’m going to bring you the fight.
Finally she hops down form her perch, standing upright.
[Victoria] You might be my most dangerous opponent yet, given your history. But know that I’m not afraid. Remember I am a LYONS and we never give up. When we have a goal, we chase it until we achieve it. We’re a little stubborn that way, but it’s that stubbornness that got Vincent his championship back, and it’s that same stubbornness that will allow me to defeat you. My path to becoming Womens Champion will not be hindered by anybody.
As Victoria begins to walk, the cameraman walks backward, keeping pace with her.
[Victoria] I hear you’re training the Isle stars now. My husband is down there. I hope he isn’t too much trouble for you. He shouldn’t be. That student from our family school though? That guy’s something else. I have to wonder though, with all this time training on Isle, do you really have time for another run in the ring?
Victoria shrugs as she continues walking down the pathway she’s one.
[Victoria] You did beat David Morgan last week, showing that you do indeed still have some gas left in that tank of yours. David Morgan however is new to WWH, and given his age is probably reaching the end of his career. With me, you’re up against the opposite of David Morgan. I’m young and just starting out my own career. That makes me hungrier. I have to step up and prove even more now that Renee and Vincent both have championships. Their success doesn’t mean I’m some sort of third wheel. I deserve to stand alongside both of them, champion or not. The Revolutionaries will continue to fight. Havoc may have fallen...for now, but he’ll be back, and there’s always something else around the corner. Whomever, or whatever it is will have The Revolutionaries to deal with, because we fight to keep some semblance of justice and honor in WWH.
The crisp air blows through her hair, as she continues pace.
[Victoria] You don’t strike me as a bad person though Jacoby. You're just trying to be successful in this crazy career path we’ve chosen. That’s what we’re all trying to do. Just prepare yourself for a fight. I’m sure you will, as will I. So let’s get out dere’ and tear da house down, ya’?
Victoria winks at the camera as she finishes with a smile, and starts a jog along the path. The camera watch her jog around a corner, just out of sight before fading way.
-----
Big Head Joes had fast become the twins favorite diner in Syrene. Victoria and Ace were running a few minutes late to meet Vincent and his girlfriend Cassandra, the traffic was absolutely ridiculous.
[Ace] Maybe you should text Vincent, let him know we’re stuck in traffic.
[Victoria] No, it’s okay. We’ll get there soon.
[Ace] Okay.
[Victoria] So how’s the training going?
[Ace] Just working hard every day, getting ready for my Isle debut against Latoya.
[Victoria] Well you know I’m always rooting for you, I just hope Jacoby doesn’t take anything out on you after I kick his butt this week.
[Ace] Ha! Nah, I don’t think that’s his style. He’s actually a good teacher.
[Victoria] Yeah, I figured he would be.
A buzzing, then the sounds of “Barracuda” by heart as Victoria receives a text message, it’s Vincent.
“Hey, where you at?”
“Traffic, be there soon.”
“Okay...well, try not to take too long.”
“Yeah sure, see you soon Vince.”
Ace looks over at Victoria curiously.
[Ace] Vincent?
[Victoria] Yep.
[Ace] Told you to just text him.
Victoria laughs and just rolls her eyes.
[Victoria] Okay, fine you win this win babe.
Ace smiles back at Victoria with a laugh of his own.
[Victoria] Seriously, what even IS this traffic?
Ace shrugs.
[Ace] Busy day I guess, we’re only like 5 minutes away now though.
[Victoria] I guess Vincent will have to wait just a few more minutes then.
[Ace] He’ll be fine. Once we get there, he’ll forget all about it.
Victoria nods in agreement, and relaxes back in the passenger seat, as Ace takes them to their dinner location for the evening.
