🗽It was back at the studio owned by the talent agency sponsoring Renee Jonae, where they have set up a mini broadcast set for these "Who is Renee Jonae" videos for the Shogun tournament. This time around, there are signs of a small celebration has happened beforehand. There are some leftover drinks on set, and a few workers scurry across the stage in camera view, while giving her a thumbs up. Jonae all smiles herself, while seated with all cameras on her, is still sure to remind the J-Dynasty Brand staff that the work isn't over.🗽
Jonae: Guys, guys, we had a good night last Dystopia, but the higher-ups won't let us stay on set all day celebrating on the company clock. It's filming time, let's focus up.
Staffer 1: We know, we know! But cooooooommmmeeee on! You're the biggest star we've acquired since your boo stopped wrestling and you just beat that huge Sasquatch everyone's afraid of! They can shove it if they have a problem with the time we take. Any other talent that wants to use the set isn't as big of an asset, so they can wait! Real talk, nah mean?
🗽A camera switches over to show the big goof in one of the interviewer seats off stage, and he still has a drink in his hand so Jonae knows why he's being a bit reckless and doesn't go too hard on him since it's the gin talking. The lady next to him playfully puts her hand over his mouth for Jonae and continues on for the video, as the view changes back to Jonae🗽Staffer 2: Don't mind him, he's just happy you beat the big jerk. Zolton's gotten the best of you before, so we're all glad you've shown progress since back then by achieving a different result this time! Congratulations to you and us!
Jonae: Let's not forget to give thanks to my new friends, Vincent has cracked the code with Zolton and was nice enough to give me some advice. Truly, I've managed to stand tall against a gigantic man before to showcase myself as the New Colossus, but Asmodeus Rizzonno was at the end of the day just a raw beast with little else to back him up. Zolton, on the other hand, is big in both size and name value for what he has done in WWH, a refined fighter and martial artist, and I was able to survive and squeak away with the win. Now that he's trailing, among those who haven't lost, I am left as the biggest name in our bracket! This makes the Dystopia side of Shogun mine to lose! Going on from here, and it's a long way to go, if I don't win it's on me, and it would mean I fumbled the bag! But that isn't my style, and I don't choke. You and the Revolutionaries helped me get here, I can't go failing now and letting it mean nothing!
🗽The first staffer, still excitable, is shown for a moment getting around to speaking on message as an interviewer.🗽Staffer 1: Right your new revolutionary pals! Havoc's gone on TV and called you guys counterprotesters for the second time now! He was sicker about it this time. Making it clear he means you're like the people against the protests going on all across America! That ain't right! Are you going to keep letting him say that without response?
Jonae: I have no choice but to respond at this point. Havoc does indeed use the term "revolution" in his mad ramblings, so he is within his rights to call us "counterprotesters" if he wishes. The problem is just saying "counterprotesters" doesn't necessarily mean anything, because the concept of a protest is not inherently good nor evil, what matters is the reason for the demonstration, and that includes the reason for protesters countering that existing one. Any group can say they're staging a protest, and there are people in the past who'd do ones against the idea of interracial marriage and marriages of many other kinds, would anyone say today that the counterprotesters to those protests were wrong? Even now, the movement he compared me to be against also does counter-protests because many "Proud" boys go to other places in the country to cause trouble. It's not that simple! He can say the Revolutionaries are countering his revolution, but he's never explained the reason for his.
Why does a double champion need a revolution? What is he standing up against in WWH? Overseer? He's gone, and was the one who allowed Havoc to have a shot at Fenrir's championship after Fenrir earned a shot at Havoc's title by winning the War of Attrition, putting both titles on the line was very kind to Havoc! Eden? Spends most of the time in the Sanatorium. The two warring co-general managers? They rarely use their power in any meaningful way outside of regular duties, let alone get in anyone's way, and that's fine by me.
What isn't fine? The guy with more than half of the singles gold in Dystopia forming an army to protect himself and spread more of his twisted ideals in WWH. That's why we created the Revolutionaries, we are very clear on the reason for our revolution against the Nightmare King and his disciples! Havoc co-opts the term revolution without reason. His ideals, his words, they have no soul, no meaning!
Staffer 1: Hey, you said the word meaning, again! You're going to make this talent agency unnecessary if you're always going to lead the interview! In the past we've talked about where you've come from, we've gone over your outlook on the type of risks needed to get places, and now?
🗽Jonae smiles with a bit of mischief.🗽 Jonae: I want to talk about what things mean to me. Last time, I said my intuition led me not to like Josh, right? I wanted to give the people some insight into why I was so aggressive with him when he faced Victoria, and I also knew I could go into more detail on the subject later because I knew I'd confront him in this tournament. Now is that time. A woman's intuition is fundamental to her security, it's something a lot of us have because we've had to deal with men of questionable motives and we don't have all the proof required to tell everyone why we feel the way we do without getting backlash for seeming judgemental. Some of us get a feeling that someone is just…...off and not right. First of all, he shows up shortly after his ex Nikki makes it onto Dystopia and she's with Ashes of the Wake? Sketchy, maybe there are still feelings there. We mess with him as a warning, a bit risky of me to act on so little, but all of a sudden Nikki shows up to help him? After all this time, I've yet to hear him clearly reject Nikki, worse yet I check in on the buildup to her against my Women's World Champion rival, and I see him hitting on Nikki?
He may or may not be in Ashes of the Wake, but for sure he's fraternizing with them through Nikki! He sends her handwritten letters real old school love like! People can think I'm crazy relying on my gut, but there's something there. Nikki coming out to help her ex MEANS something. The fact that there are strange questions in the air about them MEANS something. If Josh doesn't know he should stay away from a woman who associates with Havoc, then my intuition about him is quite prophetic!
I will not tolerate ANYONE who is friendly with Ashes of the Wake, because who you associate with MEANS something! To be their associate is to be scum! Do you know what else means something? All this talk of EWA and being furious that Becca treated him like a rookie, it signifies that he has a track record in this business. Thanks to that carelessness, you boys were able to look him up.
Staffer 1: Yes mam, I always get the work done before I hang loose! Son of a legend by blood, long history with Nikki as tag team champions, and he's been in a faction, having helped the Pillars of HATE. Not the nicest track record there. Adopted, hunted down his legendary mom as soon as he was of age, doesn't sound like the type to leave things, least of all women he cares about, alone. More importantly, earlier in the week I sent you all sorts of tapes, him wrestling Nikki and multiple World Championship matches he's had over there.
Jonae: See, there is a reason why the agency is necessary for me after all, I now know where the BATTLELINES are drawn between he and I! He's a real menace waiting to happen! If we take out Havoc from his throne of decadence without going scorched earth on the Ashes of the Wake field, Josh could easily take his place. But of course, it didn't surprise me he was such a well-established wrestler. He beat a Lyons in Victoria, and like I said, who you associate with is essential to who you are, and that means to me that anyone who can get one over on her is someone I need to be mindful of as a threat to me, because he handled someone I believe in! But I hope he doesn't think that any of that means I'm getting weak at the knees when it comes to this fight. No way!
Everyone has their cute jokes about France, never won a war that, always surrender this, hell my ancestors kicked the French out of Haiti in one of the biggest revolutions in history to inspire me to take up the mantle of being a revolutionary. The jokes are actually mostly because France bent the knee to the country my opponent, Josh, represents. But you can say what you want about the French government and armies, but the every day French person? They take no shit, they're the reason why globally people use the guillotine as a sign of standing up against oppressors! Even now the French government know not to do anything foolish that would make the people put on their yellow vests and turn the country upside down like we do whenever the powerful overstep!
Ashes of the Wake and Josh know nothing of the type of uprisings I honour as part of my culture! It's our statue that America still accepts today as their symbol of liberty and virtuous might! I will never stop nor hesitate in this fight!Because winning the Shogun Tournament, you guessed it, MEANS something to me.
When I was the first person to pin Havoc one on one while he was champion in WWH, in the show before the War of Attrition, they never gave me a title shot because of it. Even when recently they made a number one contenders match, I wasn't included. Now, I've beaten his number one contender in Zolton, but I don't imagine that'll manifest anything either, not now or even after Zolton vs Havoc is over. I won't rely on Noah, nor Paul Sinclair, to do the right thing. I will head to Japan, the same place where Havoc brutalized my fiance, and befittingly leave it with the power of Shogun that'll grant me the might to take Havoc's head!
And more importantly, take what MEANS most to him,
his last championship! 🗽Jonae stares directly towards the camera, her last words and look telling Havoc she intends to stand over the ashes of a friend of a friend of his, believes Vincent will take the Affliction Championship, and she will finish him off at the end after winning the Shogun Tournament.🗽
