The Validation
{The is dark and the room empty, save for a simple black chair which a moment later it is occupied by none other than returning WWH superstar in the “Straight Shooter” himself, Jacob Striker. He looks a little bit different from when he was on Dystopia television last as he has his long hair pulled back into a respectable ponytail and he is wearing a gray and black suit, his beard neatly trimmed, and he has a confident smile on his face}
JS: Hello World Wrestling Headquarters and Dystopia….and most certainly an extra big hello to you, T0MMYB4BY, my first opponent out of the gate in my return to a WWH ring. Now a lot of people have been asking me “Jacob, why go back to World Wrestling Headquarters”? And “Aren’t you already busy with your projects in other companies like Wrestleworld and One Wrestling Movement?” among so many other questions.
Did I come back here to win the title that I wanted the most in this company’s International Heavyweight title or did I perhaps come back to continue working with my lethal goddess of a girlfriend in Serenity Scorpio...or perhaps I just came back for some plain old vengeance on some mother fuckers who would always take the spotlight away from guys like me in short little Napoleonic fucks like Vincent Lyons?
So many questions and yet, some truth to each and everyone of them when you think about it because yes, I did come back to this company to win some gold and to spend some very enjoyable havoc with my lovely girlfriend...but most importantly I came back to this company because of the sheer fact that is that I wasn’t even remotely finished here. I had just gotten started when the troubles began and thus, I kept several dates open in case this company got its shit together and I’d come back to be violent once more.
{Jake then uses his right hand to indicate the area in front of him}
JS: And right in the nick of time too because now this company has people in it that deserve to be here like Chris Sabertooth and myself...but then you’ve got feebs like this “TommyB4by” character who think that because he’s played a couple of wrestling video games and slap on a pair of UFC brand shorts and all of a sudden, he’s a professional wrestler.
Fucking pretenders like that have no place in professional wrestling because pretenders like that have no real grasp on the kinds of pain that they can be put through by a true sadist and thus far in my career I’ve met a real handful of bastards that not only fit that description but live and thrive in it as well.
That includes me….
{Jake then leans back in his chair with a smile of certainty on his face}
JS: Now I could go on and on to my opponent about what’s going to happen, but instead I don’t think that I’m going to do that. No, because I have a feeling that my opponent will come out here and like so many others as of late, he will try and get the fans behind him because he thinks that he’s some kind of hero...and I’m some kind of bad guy.
But really...am I really the bad guy in this story. It's funny because I sense doubt from my opponent due to he's been quiet ever since our match has been announced and I have sensed doubt from a lot of people about my intentions.
But you see, where you all sense a non-existent "doubt", I will make good on everything that I say will happen at Dystopia this week.
I promise you all that it will be short.
I promise you all that it will be violent.
But I don't promise that my opponent will come out of it the same way that he went into this match because in recent months I have been pushed and pushed until finally...I cannot be pushed no further and now everyone must suffer for what I have become.
I am coming for that International Heavyweight championship and I will step on each and every single goddamned one of you monkey fucks that gets in my way to do it.
{Jacob then leans forward in his chair once more, that smile of his never leaving his face as he does so}
JS: You see, in the past while I’ve worked for this company, I’ve tried to be the hero that you all needed...deserved even. I didn’t let me ego run fucking wild like a lot of members of this company’s very roster does...but that’s not what was needed here.
No, what is needed here in the World Wrestling Headquarters is someone who is comfortable with being the most violent mother fucker in the entire company. Someone who’s more than willing to break a few necks if it means getting the job done.
{The smile then slowly disappears from Jake’s face until finally it’s completely gone}
JS: The last time I was here in this company, a lot of people said I wasn’t worth the time...that I was just riding on the coattails of my teacher, Stephanie Matsuda, and that I had no real talent.
That I wasn’t worth the time or effort for this company.
I wonder how quickly their words will change when they witness what will happen to first my opponent on Dystopia and then everyone else that this company puts into my path, how will all of you nay-sayers feel when I leave a trail of the broken and the bleeding behind me as I create my very own path of shadows straight to the top of this company?
People like Serenity and Havoc, they saw the true potential...and now so will all of you.
{Jake’s face twists into a false smile for just a few moments, but when he speaks it’s almost in a sing-song kind of way}
JS: Hello me, meet the real me...and my misfit's way of life. You can subdue, but never tame me. It gives me a migraine headache...sinking down to your level!!
{The smile then disappears from his face}
JS: Time to have some fun again.
{The screen fades to black}

"This is your first official test, boy. Your very first match..."
Tommy, both knees on the canvas, looked up at Augustin who stood above him. Augustin was dressed in his white suit, paired with his white wide-brimed hat like the true Louisiana man he is. Tommy on the other hand had on an oversized shirt and a pair of basketball shorts, both looked decently grimy. The gym they were in was dark and so it was rather hard to figure out how long he'd actually been here. Augustin had made him train for days, sleeping on the cot in the back. At least Tommy, thought it had been days. Again he wasn't really sure.
"Why do you look so afraid, boy?"
Augustin End looked him dead in his eyes, and Tommy knew he had allowed him to see inside his head. Augustin had a way of doing that, of getting inside your mind.
"I- I'm afraid of letting you down. Letting down the team."
Augustin leaned forward onto his cane, rocking back and forth onto it. He bobbed his head from side to side, looking rather disappointed with the answer he had been given. Augustin paced the ring.
"You've already begun to allow doubt within your heart, Tommy. You've already lost."
Tommy jolted up in protest.
"But Augustin, sir, I- "
With much more force than a man his age should be able to posses, Augustin backhanded Tommy across the face once he made it onto one foot. The force knocked Tommy back hard, smacking his tailbone against the canvas.
"Do not let your emotions control you, boy! You know damn well that is the first rule within DUSK. You free yourself of all silly emotion, you operate on hard truths and you use them to your advantage. If you allow your emotions to get the better of you, than I can not help you, Tommy Boy. You must FIRST go back to square one!"
Tommy was dazed at first but he heard Augustin's words loud and true. He slowly moved back into the same position he was in prior, knees against the mat. Looking up at Augustin.
"As I was saying, you can not allow doubt within your heart if you plan on getting past your first obstacle. Confidence is the biggest key you can take with you into this battle. Confidence, convincing yourself you have the skill, is sometimes half the battle. However if you're already worrying about the consequences of losing, then you've already lost."
Tommy kept his eyes on Augustin, focused. He was ready to take on the world.
"Jacob Striker has been an interesting story to watch, that's for one. Although he hasn't been back within the walls of WWH in a while, it does look like Striker has been keeping his wrestling muscle worked. So it does look like you may have to work at this one, it's not like he's been out of the ring that entire time that he's been away from WWH. But I also know that Striker hasn't had too much luck here in WWH. I know he's never ben able to find himself with a singles championship and the only time he truly shined was when he was on a team with someone. I understand those that shine brighter when paired with someone. Look at yourself Tommy, without me by your side, where would you be? By as far as I can see Striker's trying to go at this by himself this time."
Augustin stopped his pacing to tap on Tommy's head showing him his allowance to stand.
"Striker is hoping for some kind of hero turn around story, on that sees him come back after a hiatus, and shoot straight to the top. Striker is going to want to tear through the roster, to see himself finally holding a title belt here in WWH. But Tommy, we're going to make him realize that this little fantasy he has playing in his head isn't going to come at the expense of you, it's not going to come at the expense of DUSK. As I was saying earlier, you need the confidence to persevere forward, and to knock Striker from this dreamland he's probably found himself in. Otherwise why come back at all. Why show his face again unless he thought this time was going to be different, unless he thought this time he was ready to make a run at the top. I'll say it again, no at our expense Tommy."
"Not at our expense."
Tommy repeated Augustin's words as he nodded along like some sort of brainwashed cult member. All in all, that was the sort of feel that this DUSK group of giving off. This may be the first time we were seeing or hearing from them, but already it was looking a little shady. The way Augustin dressed, and the way he spoke, made him look and sound like a cult leader. Typically the way he was able to rope the fun-loving T0MMYB4BY into believing his words.
"There's no doubts that Striker is going to have years of experience on you, and he's looking more deadly than ever. But you're representing DUSK. Do not disappoint."
The words sunk into Tommy's head, but this time he knew better than to allow Augustin another look at his uneasy eyes. This time he forced all amount of confidence he had to the forefront of his mind. He needed to win this, needed to prove he belonged in DUSK despite his inexperience.
"I don't care if Jacob has been in the business way longer than I have, because I don't think it matters. Jacob knows that there has been times where he's gone up against people who were bigger and badder than he is, and he still managed to get the win in the end. Striker knows that anything and everything can happen inside that ring, and I'm banking on T0MMYB4BY being able to pull an upset win! I know I can do it. I know I can beat Striker and bring honor to DUSK if you allow me to do so."
Tommy bent his head, folding his arms into his front and bowing. Augustin had his back turned towards Tommy, facing the opposite direction, lost in thought. It took him a few seconds and a deep sigh later, but he finally turned around. He reached up, taking a gold chained medallion front around his neck and placing it around Tommy's. The medallion had an image of a setting sun engraved into it.
"I won't let you down."
Tommy uttered under his breath to Augustin, though deep down he knew the weight was to heavy to carry.
