It was interesting how life worked sometimes. For Isabella Thorn, her life was going down the path she had wanted it to go since she had been adopted over a decade earlier. She had made her professional wrestling debut against a world champion and had forced him to get angry. Sure in the end she had lost the match but that had become a family tradition. She could still hear the words from Synergy when her match for Kobayashi Maru was announced. She had impressed the management with her determination and desire to win. The fact that Hide had been revealed to be a cannibal was an added tidbit that she hadn't known going into that match.
Now only days before the Kobayashi Maru, UGWC's youngest talent was excitedly waiting to speak about her upcoming match. She had been training hard since her debut to get ready for whatever challenge was tossed her way. In fact, she had just finished training and was standing in the center of the ring in the Phoenix Nest.
"August 3, 2020 will forever be burned in my memory. It was the night that I made my professional wrestling debut. Not only did I make my debut but I did so against Hide Yamazaki, the man who became the United Global Wrestling Coalition World Champion at WrestleStock 2020. I know everyone expected that match to be a simple squash that would last less than a minute. Well, those who thought that were proven wrong as I went 5 minutes and 48 seconds with the World Champion. A match that I not only held my own but managed to nearly win on several times. In the end I lost but you know what I am glad it happened that way. I have gotten my big loss out of the way and sky's the limit now. "
Isabella stops to take a breath as she reaches up and wipes the sweat of her brow.
"Which is an interesting thing to take note of considering I have a big triple threat match coming up at Kobayashi Maru. A match that will name a new number one contender for the Cross Hemisphere Championship. A title that has been in the hands of Ruby ever since WrestleStock. Yet, I am curious if anyone in UGWC has seen her since then? Is she even still alive? I guess we will see the answer to that come Monday when she is scheduled to face off against Konrad Raab."
As she speaks Isabella starts to bounce around the ring letting out some energy.
"Which means that my match against Carlson Rex and Maria Salvatore will be to determine who gets a shot at either the magically reappearing Superheroine or the Iceman. Either way, things will be interesting. Yet, before you all think I have overlooked my opponents let me say a few things. First and foremost, I fully expect to be overlooked and underestimated in this match. Be it because of my age or my gender I know that I will be prejudged before that bell rings. I know the age care will be played by at least one of my opponents, maybe even both Carlson and Maria will go there. Yes I am only 16 but don't that fool you into thinking I am some naive rookie. I have spent more hours in this very ring over the last decade learning to wrestle than you can even imagine. It was my dream to become a professional wrestler and I have achieved it. Now my next dream is to become a champion. "
Isabella climbs to the turnbuckle and strikes a pose as she takes a breath.
"If the gender card gets played, I know that will come from the Technician King. A man who made his return to Synergy with a resounding loss. From what I have managed to pull up on Carlson is that he had been training for the last six years. Training that started when he was sixteen. Though from what I saw there was no mention of anything impressive in his resume. No accomplishments to speak of as of yet. Nothing to set him apart from the thousands of wrestlers who hope to become famous under the big bright lights."
There is a short pause as Isabella backflips off the turnbuckle into the center of the ring. She lands on feet and takes a breath
"Which brings us to Maria Salvatore. I had to actually look to see if such a person was actually employed as part of the UGWC roster. To my amazement I found that not only does Maria have a UGWC contract but that she was scheduled to take part in the Cross Hemisphere Extravaganza at Wrestlestock. Yet, as we all know she was nowhere to be seen. Which brings me to the question of when was the last time she was actually seen on UGWC programming? The last match Maria had was on the June 22nd edition of Synergy. Now that we have determined that I will take a guess that the Italian Princess has had some Family business that has prevented her from coming to work."
Isabella pauses and gives a knowing smirk to one of the cameras that were built into the arena.
"Let's be clear on something at Kobayashi Maru, I will beat both of you to earn my shot at the Cross Hemisphere Championship. I could say it is in my blood but that would be a lie. However, wrestling is as natural to me as breathing. I have trained, studied and dreamed of this day for years. If you paid attention to what I said before my debut match you will know that I have already survived more than you can imagine. In the end, your worst has nothing on what I have already overcome. Come our match I will force you both to respect my dedication to the world of wrestling. I will be the one who stands victorious after the bell rings and I will be well on the road towards achieving my next dream. See you both Monday."
With those words Isabella strikes a pose in the ring with her arm raised in the air. After a minute she slides out of the ring as it goes dark

It is Saturday afternoon and we find Isabella Thorn and her cohort Hope standing at a reception desk in the Sunrise Children's Hospital in Las Vegas. Both of the girls had a set of colored wristbands showing they had been tested for Covid-19 and had come up negative. Around each of their necks was a visitor badge lanyard. Isabella was in a UGWC shirt and a pair of jeans. Hope was in a similar outfit but with an Imperial Youth shirt instead. While this wasn't an officially endorsed appearance Isabella figured it wasn't a bad idea to advertise her status as a professional wrestler. Her goal for the afternoon was to spend some time talking with the less critical patients. While she had yet to make a name for herself as someone big in the world of wrestling Isabella knew she could inspire someone.
"Ms. Thorn, I don't what to say to your coming in to do this. If only more people your age understood the concept of helping others."
The statement spoken by the nurse who was at the desk caused Isabella to shake her head slightly to clear her thoughts. She was ready to make the days of some of some kids and teens who were currently going through a rough time and it made her smile.
"Thanks for that Marsha. I hope my visit today will spread some cheer."
"Trust me dear you will do great."
As the pair talked another nurse was walking the ward checking to see what rooms were safe to visit. Meanwhile, Hope was holding several large bags full of various UGWC swag. After a few moments the nurse returns to talk with Marsha for a moment.
"Everything is ready for you girls. Just follow Lacy here and she will start you on the rounds."
Isabella nods and waits for the now named Lacy to lead the way to what would be the start of her publicity tour as professional wrestling. She had done things like this before but that had been to volunteer and help out with group events. With a smile to Hope the trio walked down the hall before stopping at a door. Stepping inside to the room there is a young boy with his cast covered leg suspended in the air. He was awake though the fading bruises on his face told the tale that he had been though an ordeal. Sitting in a chair next to the bed was a worn looking man. Isabella could see the man bags under the man's eyes and wondered what happened.
"Mr. Stone these are the pair I told you about. I will let them introduce themselves."
Mr. Stone nods slowly as he looks Isabella and Hope over. Seeing Isabella's shirt makes him smile slightly.
"My name is Ben and my boy here is Luke. I don't know why you are doing this but thank you both."
Isabella offers her hand to Ben and smiles.
"I am Isabella Thorn and this is my best friend Hope Knox. I know how these places can be."
"Wait I have heard that name. Weren't you part of WrestleStock? I recall hearing some buddies of mine talking about someone named Isabella and how she didn't make into a title match."
This causes Isabella to grin as she moves to where Luke could see her clearly.
"Yeah I didn't qualify for the Cross Hemisphere Championship match. However, I am preparing to go into my second professional wrestling match on Monday Night."
She nods to Hope who was looking through the bags looking for something. After a moment Hope pulls out a box with an Alan Wallace action figure in it. Isabella hands it to Luke who looks at it with excitement. A smile crossing his lips as he looks over at his father. Ben takes a breath and nods his thanks as Isabella.
"Hi there Luke, it looks like you have an adventure. If you don't mind my curiosity what happened?
Luke nods slowly to acknowledge that he had been spoken to. After a few breaths during which his attention was on the action figure he had been given.Luke begins to speak.
"There was a car crash. Mommy got hurt way worse than I did. It sucks that I won't be able to run around for a while though."
Isabella looks over at Ben and holds up a sharpie. Ben nods giving his permission.
"That sounds like it was scary Luke. I once broke my wrist falling off my bike. It wasn't fun at all. Can I sign your cast?"
"Please do. My friends won't believe I met you otherwise."
Isabella chuckles in amusement as she looks the cast over and signs it after getting Ben to hold the leg steady. Once done she grins and looks at Ben.
"If you have your phone with you take a picture so Luke can prove to his friends that this really happened."
Ben nods and takes out his phone as Isabella poses with Luke as the both hold the box of the action figure. A few pictures are taken before Isabella nods. She gives Luke a hug and then shakes Ben's hand before stepping back.
"I wish you a speedy recovery Luke. If I have time when I am done visiting the other kids I'll come back by.."
"Of course. Thank you for your time."
With that Isabella flashes them both a smile before moving on to the next patient.
