Rusty? Is that what Victoria really thought? The words bothered Vincent somewhat, who was she to call him rusty? She had yet to even win a match around here! Yet, he had to wash those thoughts away, this was his sister and perhaps deep down, he knew she was right, he had lost a step in the recent year, and he needed to find whatever it was he needed to do to make that right.
Bag slung over his shoulder, he left the locker room area. Ace was going to be picking Victoria up later, so he had this time to himself, cameras follow down the hallways as he enters into the parking lot. After tossing his gear into the trunk of his car, he starts the engine, and begins to pull out, but stops and parks his car again, gets out and walks out of the arena into the streets, as the scene cuts away.
-----------
We catch up to Vincent late at night where he finds himself on a park bench, hoodie pulled over his head, looking up into the California air, he has a quiet inquisitive look on his face.
[Vincent] You know, maybe Havoc is right. Maybe I am just a joke, a flash in the pan. Maybe I am all the things he says I am. However, there is one thing he can never call me, and that’s a quitter.
His eyes look to the camera for the first time since we found him on this bench, his eyes look blank, but theres frustration showing through those eyes as well.
[Vincent] I am not a quitter, you can beat me down time and time again, but I will keep coming until MY goals are reached. Maybe I’m stubborn, maybe I’m even foolish, but I will never quit until I put an end to you Havoc. All those words you said about me last Dystopia, about my sister, about Renee, all it proves is we’re getting in your head. If I have to remain a pest, a thorn in your side that just won’t go away to end you, I will. Your threats don’t scare me, I’m ready to bleed Havoc, and I am ready to die for our cause. This goes beyond any championships at this point, it’s time we get personal. You want a war? Then let’s have a fucking war.
Vincents takes a breath, that we see exit his lips through the fog.
[Vincent] Your excessive hatred of me will be your downfall Havoc, and I do wonder? What is it that’s so bad about me? I just want to better myself, and to help better WWH as a whole. Does that make me such a bad guy? Whine all you want about going against me again, the fact remains, I EARNED my shot at you Havoc, I earned it by defeating your ward Nikki Caldwell. If that bothers you, well...that’s sort of your problem isn’t it? Your grip on this company will be released, and then everyone will see you as the false king you are, even my opponent this week can see that. Yes Stephanie Matsuda, I’m talking about you.
His eyes shift upward, just for a moment before he returns his gaze to the camera.
[Vincent] Honestly, I don’t really have any bad blood with you Stephanie, you seem to be an alright person. I know my sister has her eyes set on your womens championship at some point, but...she still has work to do before she makes it there. It’s not so much anything personal against you, as you wear the target she desires most. She’ll get there, but she still has to work at it.
He stops for a moment, Victoria wasn’t going to like hearing that but it was the truth, she wasn’t ready for The War Queen just yet.
[Vincent] Then you have Renee who also wants that same championship, and then you have Johnny who I’m sure seeks to regain his International Championship. It’s like everyone I’m closest to around here has some sort of beef with you, but for me, I have no reason to hold any ill-will toward you, honestly your one of the good ones.
He shrugs, and looks calmly into the sky again, still seated on the table part of the park bench.
[Vincent] You had a lot to say about Havoc as well, and all of it was true. He is only out to serve himself in the end, and the sooner Nikki realizes that, the better. But, just because we have no bad blood between us, doesn’t mean this will be a walk in the park for you War Queen.
Vincent does a motion to his surroundings as he says “walk in the park.”
[Vincent] Your aware of the company I keep, Renee is a fellow Revolutionarie, and Johnny is a friend of mine, who is welcome at any time to join the revolution, but it’s me your up against this time Stephanie, and I promise you, this will be a fight. You however, have no problem with that do you?
For the first time, Vincent smiles, it’s subtle but it’s definitely there.
[Vincent] You enjoy war, and fighting. That’s good. We need people like you speaking against Havoc, and the threat he brings to us all. Like you said you are his equal, you are both double champions and that’s something very few accomplish around here.
Vincent gives Stephanie a respectful, soft clap.
[Vincent] You’re also right, there can only be one double champion, and perhaps it will be you. If I can do anything about it, you will be, since I have every intention in the world of taking that Affliction Championship off of him. So, perhaps if that’s what you want, to be the only double champion around here, maybe let ME worry about Havoc, let Zolton worry about Havoc. Renee and Johnny are no pushovers, and if you aren’t careful Stephanie, you won’t be a double champion much longer either. I have Christopher under control, trust me. I’m already under his skin..did you see that outburst at Dystopia? He’s starting to crack because he knows people like us are exposing him, he knows his downfall is imminent, and he’s scared.
A cool breeze blows past Vincent, as he tosses around his thoughts about himself and the future of WWH.
[Vincent] You’ve been on a roll the past few weeks too haven’t you Stephanie? Not just with becoming a double champion, but just picking up wins in general. And I haven’t stepped into the ring in a few weeks. Don’t let that fool you though, despite what my sister may have said to me I am NOT rusty, so if you’re curious if I’m ready for war? The answer is a resounding YES. I’ll go to war this week with a war queen, and I’ll continue fighting the bigger war against a Nightmare King. I know you fight on the side of good, and have spoken your own words against Havoc, but much like I am not facing Havoc, neither are you. You are facing The Young Lion, and I respect you and what you’ve done in this company, but all I see you as currently is my competition, my prey and another obstacle in my path en route to the dethroning of The Nightmare King. It’s nothing personal Stephanie, but I do advise you of one little thing that I remind all my prey.
Vincent pauses for effect, and stares directly into the cameras
[Vincent] Be Prepared.
Vincent steps down from the bench, the cameras stay on him for a few moments as he exits the park and turns a corner out of sight.
==========
The Next Day
==========
After a slight argument the previous night, both twins have met up again over coffee, well a coffee for Vincent, Victoria went for her usual chai tea, and they both chose the same chocolate danish to go with their drinks.
[Victoria] I see you don’t have your facepaint on today.
[Vincent] Well, it didn’t seem appropriate to wear for coffee.
[Victoria] You think Havoc walks around in public looking like that?
[Vincent] He might! It really wouldn’t surprise me.
Both twins share a laugh, it feels a bit forced yet genuine at the same time.
[Victoria] I didn’t mean to upset you the other night with that rusty comment you know. I really was just trying to motivate you, remember just because I’m not a your manager anymore, doesn’t mean I can’t continue to help and support you.
[Vincent] I know...I know, there’s just a lot going on in my head.
[Victoria] Like what?
Victoria raises an eyebrow, behind a sip of her tea, she takes a bite of danish as Vincent responds.
[Vincent] Just Havoc, and everything..I think he’s getting to me Vicks.
[Victoria] Don’t say that shit. Havoc will fall, his followers will see his lies and leave him. When the ashes truly fall, he will have no friends, nothing. And you? You’ll still have me, you;ll have Renee, we’ll have Johnny. We will be the ones who stood up first and said NO! Right now, you just need to stay focused on Matsuda.
[Vincent] Yet another tough obstacle. She’s got momentum on her side. It’s not going to be easy.
[Victoria] I didn’t say it was, this war isn’t going to be easy Vince. If you want things to be easy then you need to rethink things, but you can overcome Matsuda, and you can overcome Havoc.
[Vincent] She beat Renee AND Johnny…
[Victoria] Are either of them you? No, so let Renee and Johnny worry about themselves. You just go out there and show Matsuda that The Young Lion is not to be fucked with, show her why you are one of the top talents in the company. Show her why you are a Revolutionarie!
Vincent says nothing, he takes in his sisters words, but gives on real thoughts upon his reply, instead reversing back to her.
[Vincent] And what about you?
[Victoria] Me?
The Lyoness seems taken slightly aback, almost choking on her sweet treat.
[Vincent] I’m not the only one fighting. You keep throwing advice my way, but you are still searching for your first victory, and you have quite the challenge this week.
[Victoria] With Becca? Trust me, I’m aware. I can handle things though. She's big, but she doesn’t scare me.
[Vincent] She should. It’s okay to be scared.
[Victoria] I know, but I refuse to let it get to me. But after she tapped out, it just sort of takes away that scary beast quality right? I mean I know how good Josh Kaine is, trust me he gave me a good welcoming party into the physical aspect of our business. But the one thing he didn’t make me do was tap out.
[Vincent] Fair play.
[Victoria] Look, we’re both up against tough competition this week, but we’re Lyons. We keep fighting, we keep hunting, we don’t give up.
[Vincent] And we fight equally alongside our pack.
[Victoria] And our pack...is Revolutionary.
Both twins salud their drinks and take a sip. There seems to be some tension still but they finish their coffee and pastries on a positive note, heading into their respective matches at Dystopia.
